Located at The Sewanee Inn, Shakerag overlooks a golf course with expansive views of the verdant valley known as Shakerag Hollow. In the long-gone days of Prohibition, locals in-the-know would visit the hollow and shake a white rag to signal their interest to moonshiners in the valley. These days, you need not know any secret gestures to enjoy delicious handmade cocktails and upscale comfort food at Shakerag. Serving a menu of Southern-inspired dishes with unexpected presentations, Shakerag offers a relaxing retreat for lunch, dinner, and drinks.

We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere for the campus and the local community. We have an expansive porch surrounded by picturesque trees, flowers, and passers-by. The wrap-around porch is a great place for any type of gathering—studying, chatting, "just visiting" or otherwise. Our food is sourced locally whenever possible, using organic ingredients and "made from scratch" whenever possible.

A charming little neighborhood cafe with great food, stimulating conversation, friendly folks and homemade soups and baked goods to die for. Breakfast, salads and sandwiches for lunch, and plenty of made-from-scratch sweet stuff in our bakery showcase. The tavern serves great bar food and features Jackalope Brewery (Nashville, TN) craft beers. We have 3 HDTVs for your sports viewing pleasure and a 15' solid oak bar.
