COALMONT
Coalmont OHV Park
This new off-road park will offer over 1,300 acres of off-road trails with varied wooded terrain for all vehicle types and skill levels. A large unloading area, vehicle wash station, parking lot, restrooms, picnic area and primitive camping will be available on-site. RV sites with 5/30 amp and 16/50 amp service will also be on-site, with water and available dump station. The park’s anticipated opening will be in the fall of 2022. Please check back for updates!

Grundy Lakes Historic Area Trailhead
There are 8 trailheads within South Cumberland State Park. At the Grundy Lakes Historic Area, you can see remnants of this region’s coal mining industry, and learn how state convicts provided labor for the hundreds of coke ovens that ‘cooked coal’ at this site for nearly 50 years after the Civil War…
High Point Climbing
Whether you are climbing for the first time or looking to take your skills to the next level, High Point’s experienced climbing guides can help you enjoy an incredible day outside, tailoring your experience to whatever works best for you — Traditional Climbing, Sport Climbing, Bouldering or all of the above. High Point’s climbing guide service is fully insured, and all climbing guides are American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Single Pitch Instructors. Climbing is offered at Denny Cove and Foster Falls in South Cumberland State Park.

Historic Stoker-Stampfli Farm & Museum
The Historic Stoker-Stampfli Farm tells the story of Swiss immigrants who came to the this area in the mid-1800s. The farmhouse, farm buildings and museum are all available to tour by appointment. All tours are free, but donations to maintain and restore the farm’s buildings are gratefully accepted.

Laurie Museum & Archives
The Museum Collection contains a wide array of unique and interesting objects donated to the university and collected by the Archives. Often used in exhibits and research, these items lend a striking visual component to our holdings and serve to put many of our print and manuscript collections in their historical context.

Tenacity Adventure Fitness
Tenacity Adventure Fitness is a 10,000 sq-ft facility with a dedicated parkour area, cargo net climbs, rock walls, foam pits, trampolines, and several obstacles courses. Available for day use. The facility can easily accommodate larger groups seeking to have a fun-filled, unique, and memorable adventure.

The Course at Sewanee
The historic Course at Sewanee was renovated by Gil Hanse in 2013 — Golf Magazine’s 2009 Architect of the Year — who reimagined, redesigned and rebuilt all nine green complexes, added challenging new bunkers and alternate tees—while being mindful of the delicate ecosystem of the Cumberland Plateau.

Cove Creek Farm
COVE CREEK FARM is family owned and operated by brothers Micah and Matthew Sparacio. It began as a conversation about our food—knowing where it came from and how to ensure it was raised humanely and naturally. Adults and kids can join us on the first and third Saturdays of the month for a one hour guided tour of our farm. Field trips to Cove Creek Farm are great for kids in K-5. Our Play Barn and Outdoor Adventure Zone can accommodate 4 busloads at a time. Have a unique birthday party for your kids or grand-kids at The Cove Creek Play Barn and Outdoor Adventure Zone. Highlander Folk School
The Highlander Folk School campus was first established in 1932 in Monteagle. The school began by organizing unemployed and working people, and working toward a more just and inclusive society. It also focused on fighting segregation. The school campus is presently closed to the public, as it undergoes restoration.

Mountain Goat Trail
Old coal railroad route converted to a rail-trail, a bike and running path open to the public. From 1856 to 1985, the Mountain Goat Railroad carried coal and passengers over the Cumberland Plateau. It was called the Mountain Goat because the climb onto the Plateau was one of the steepest railroad ascents in the world.

The Sam (“Bud”) H. Werner Military Museum showcases Mr. Werner's extensive collection of military vehicles and other artifacts. His collection encompasses items from WWI to the present.
